After
30 successful years in the Region, Information Niagara is still providing
reliable and accurate community information to the people of Niagara.
Information Niagara opened its doors in Niagara Falls in 1974 with
three contract staff and over the years has grown to more than 9 staff with two
locations in St Catharines and Niagara Falls and this
virtual site.
The ability to adapt to change is what has kept projects and ideas fresh
in the mind of Rosanna Thoms, Executive
Director. Her willingness to tackle new initiatives and partnerships along
with the support and hard work of Information Niagara staff and volunteers
has enabled this organization to grow and strengthen over the years.
Information Niagara includes a website which has assisted in making
information available to a much larger group of people. We offer an
accurate fully searchable online community
information database.
Agencies can update their information as it changes, allowing
others to receive timely updates and better referrals.
Another
successful initiative is our Volunteer Connections
database providing volunteer opportunities that are accessible to
every one to search at their convenience. This also allows agencies to
quickly and easily post volunteer opportunities.
Our Desktop Guide
to Community Services has also changed with the times. It has a new
look, but is the same great resource, providing complete and detailed
information about the human services available to the community of
Niagara.
