Information Niagara, a Community Information Centre "Connecting People and Services", requires Information and Referral Interns for the 211 Program.
The successful applicants will be university graduates with proven communication skills, be highly detailed by nature, and have exceptional problem solving abilities and above-average organizational skills. Experience in a Human Service oriented organization in a volunteer capacity is a requirement. A second language would be an asset.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing information and referral to clients wanting to locate community, government or social services, assisting with the advancement of volunteering in Niagara, contributing to the maintenance and integrity of the database, and assisting clients with form filling. This is a front line client oriented position. A willingness to pursue and maintain certification as a Certified Information and Referral Specialist is a requisite.
The ideal candidate will have transportation and be able to work in our St Catharines office. Training in Information and Referral will be provided. Only candidates under consideration will be contacted.
