OUT OF THE COLD
PROGRAMS
Churches in the area provide
accommodations some evenings in the winter. Programs generally run

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING
Transitional or supportive housing,
provides short term housing, including a supportive component. For

SUBSIDIZED HOUSING
Niagara Regional Housing is the
organization that determines eligibility for and the provision of
subsidy for rental units in the non-profit, cooperative and public
housing complexes in the Niagara Region. These include
individual/single; family; or senior dwellings. Individuals
can apply to each specific complex or directly to Niagara
Regional Housing indicating their location preference. For listing of

ASSISTANCE WITH SOLVING HOUSING
PROBLEMS
Sometimes problems between
landlords and tenants need legal clarification. The local Ministry
of Municipal Affairs and Housing can clarify the rights of landlords
and tenants. Other agencies providing legal advice and assistance

SPECIALIZED HOUSING OPTIONS
The following housing options
are specific to individuals with disabilities requiring some
support. Some individuals with disabilities who may not
require as much support, or who may be able to arrange their own
support, may also find suitable accommodations in many of the
buildings that are subsidized through Niagara Regional Housing.
